| Auburn students promised to get "Tech's goat" at a rally in Atlanta before the 1911 football game. Mike Donahue's lads didn't let them down, defeating John Heisman's team 11-6. Kirk Newell returned a punt 80 yards, and end Ted Arnold intercepted a pass and ran 105 yards for Auburn's two five-point touchdowns. The field was 110 yards long in those days. |
